Hot Dinners readers best new restaurant of 2015 - Oldroyd
Tom Oldroyd's Islington restaurant, his first since leaving the Polpo group, was a clear winner. It's gained lots of fans since it opened (ourselves included) and gained a LOT of support in our reader vote. We caught up with Tom Oldroyd to give him the news: "HOLY CRAP!! That's so bloody amazing. Wow. I'm a bit speechless actually. To be voted number one by the people that really matter (customers) and in a year of such fantastic openings is beyond brilliant."
Here's what you said about Oldroyd":
"I've been back so many times, and every morsel has been as delicious as the first. Food that suggests it comes from an enormous kitchen and is deserving of an enormous dining room - but the intimate setting only makes Oldroyd even more of a treat." - Clare Simmons
"It works magic out of the tiniest kitchen I have ever seen. The food is amazing and the staff are like old friends." Joe Donnelly
"Amazing food, atmosphere, and staff. Go back religiously" - Amy Loughborough
"Fantastic neighbourhood restaurant (5 minutes from my front door!). Atmosphere lovely and the food never disappoints." - Alexandra Bright
"These guys love what they do, great food, great service, great little restaurant." - Jason Hutchins

2. Piquet
"Great food, which is ever changing; brilliant wine list, again changing; amazing staff - very friendly and knowledgeable. Perfect addition to the London scene." - Freddie Woodhead
3. Berber & Q
"Because of the impact they had on the London food scene. This is not just a restaurant but more of an experience from the food, music, ambience and drinks list." - John Metliss
4. Coba
"Atmosphere, hidden gem in unlikely location, phenomenal spring rolls and prawn toast, and lethal yet delicious cocktails." - Eric Mai
5. Pidgin
"A tiny hole in the wall with a serious (but still very fun!) approach to food. A tasting menu in a neighbourhood restaurant was a bold move but pricing is accessible and with the menu changing each week it keeps things interesting." - Lucy Henry
6. Hoppers
"Delicious, authentic, cheap, amazing atmosphere, great staff and drinks. Basically perfect." - Poppy Royds
"The BEST fried chicken in London (and there's a lot right now), sides which are just as good (schezuan aubergine - I'm looking at you) and tasty cocktails to boot." - Jodie Gallagher
"Nestled in Pimlico, this is the perfect neighbourhood restaurant, beautiful British dishes and super cosy. I spend hours there with a book!" - Alexandra Metcalfe
9. Blacklock
"All the meat you could possibly want for much cheaper than I expected. £20 for the all-in deal is ridiculously good, and so is the meat." - Michael Passingham
10. Bao
"Every dish is a stunner. A clean, immaculate, zen-like ambiance. That Horlicks ice-cream dessert... all my childhood nostalgia wrapped in a deep fried hipster pudding." - Joe Churchill
