What: Waka

In a nutshell: Nikkei to go

Summing it all up: The City gets a new lunchspot on Eastcheap as Waka brings Nikkei Peruvian/Japanese cuisine to the takeaway market

It's ALL about Nikkei in London at the moment. Yesterday we brought you news that the guys at 108 Garage were expanding with a restaurant featuring a raw bar and a Nikkei menu. Now we get news that the City is where you'll find a new Nikkei to go restaurant.

Waka is opening on Eastcheap serving up a range of dishes in the £4 to £7 price range. So if you're a City worker bored of Pret and tried everything in Wasabi, this may be a way to pep up your lunchtime, particularly when you see that dishes include

  • Hot chicken teriyaki rice bowl with Peruvian purple potato
  • Salmon tiradito with apple & passionfruit sauce
  • Beef and queso andino tataki, truffle mayo

If you're not grabbing and dashing, there's also going to be room for 60 diners downstairs.

Where is it? 39a Eastcheap, London EC3M 1DE
