Six Storeys of bohemian food and drink decadence to arrive in Soho

From the start of 2017, if you so desire, you’ll be able to dive back in time to a prohibition era-style dining experience spanning a whole building at Six Storeys. It’s the newest offering from the people who brought you Tanner & Co, the traditional restaurant in a highly untraditional gymnasium venue, and is similarly esoteric in style.

Based in the heart of Soho, Six Storeys’ food and drink extravaganza is targeted at the ‘discerningly curious.’ And curious you’ll be - there’ll be heaps for you to investigate, spanning a plethora of cleverly-named storeys.

Coming in on the ground floor you’ll be greeted with the Lobby Bar, and a selection of cocktails and wines to warm you up, before you move up a floor or two (or four.) Most diners will head to the Parlour on the first floor for relaxed Victorian-inspired food and drink, relished from cushiony sofas, or up another floor to the Lounge for more of a sit-down affair.

If it’s a stiff drink you’re after, the third floor’s Decantery promises to showcase the work of London’s most talented ‘booze engineers’, and visitors are warned to ‘expect the unexpected.’ Whether the booze engineers are Bsc or CEng was unspecified, but needless to say we’re very interested.

All menu items are designed to leave a serious impression, theatrically or otherwise. Breakfast is no different. Early birds can enjoy muffins toasted at their table, or a muesli ‘infused oat jar’. Lunch and evening menus will offer similar eyebrow-raising meals - how about carved flat iron chicken for mains, and twice-baked souffle with sloe gin jelly and peanut butter for pudding?

Cocktails will be dished out in a similar fashion - 72 hour fig infused liqueur, or apple pie Martinis are likely to make an appearance, along with a venison and truffle gin cup for the braver drinkers among us.

The upper two storeys will be reserved for small gatherings and private parties, with those all-important stunning London views over Oxford Street and Soho.

Six Storeys on Soho opens January 2017 (or December for private diners) at 11 Soho Square, London, W1D 3QE. Follow Six Storeys on Twitter @SixStoreys and Instagram @sixstoreys.
