Shoreditch Platform: Come for the workspace, stay for the cocktails

shoreditch platform

It’s not often you hear the words work space and cocktail bar in the same breath. But this September, they’ve come together in a new bar and dining concept at Shoreditch Platform.

The workspace is designed by the same architect who did some of Ottolenghi’s stunning interiors, including NOPI and its amazing mirror bathroom. Shoreditch Platform has a trendy graffiti-inspired black and white theme that’s more than a bit Shoreditch-esque. Access to the two-storey space will be open to everyone, and there’s no membership fee - rather, you’ll be allowed to pay by the hour, at £5 (not including VAT), making it a great spot for an out-of-office meeting.

Once you’re done with your emails, meetings and all that other boring stuff, the idea is that you can grab a cocktail in the lounge, and unwind without leaving the building. Those looking for something stiff after a hard day will be able to sample the Shoreditch Sour, with bourbon, lemon juice, bitters and egg white. But there’ll also be a host of more traditional cocktails, all available at £9.50. Wine by the glass will be £5.40 and champagne will cost £10.50.

If you’re not yet ready to relax quite that much though, make use of some of the other amenities offered by Shoreditch Platform, like an early yoga class, followed by a complimentary flat white from their in-house baristas. The bar will also be providing light breakfast items.

Shoreditch Platform is open at 1 Kingsland Highstreet, E2 8AA. Open Monday - Wednesday 8am-11.30pm, Thursday 8am-00.30am, Friday 8am-1.30am, Saturday 11am-1.30am, Sunday 11am-11.30pm. Follow Shoreditch Platform on Twitter @ShoreditchPlat
