Roast launches its Ultimate Veggie Burger

Roast launches its Ultimate Veggie Burger

They're best known for their meat, for sure, but now Roast in Borough Market are going all vegetarian. It's all linked to the launch of Vegetarian Week (15 -21 May) and to mark that, they've been developing their own veggie burger.

Base on their own Ultimate Roast Burger, it's the Ultimate Veggie Burger. That's a beetroot and quinoa patty (for a meaty texture) in a grilled charcoal brioche bun and with pickled carrot chutney, wild rocket and an avocado and tahini dressing. It comes with triple cooked Cheshire Farm chips and a pickled walnut mayo - all for £17.50.

It's not all they're adding as more vegetarian dishes are going on the menu, including a "Spinach, Pine Nut and Cheddar Scotch Egg" and "Charred Cauliflower Steak with quinoa, prunes, cashew nuts and smoked garlic and onion sauce". So Roast isn't all about meat these days.

And all of these are going on the menu permanently - it's not JUST for veggie week.

Where: Roast, The Floral Hall, Stoney St, London SE1 1TL

When: From 15 May 2017
