Riverford roving restaurant hits Islington this summertime

yurtIf you're too busy, lazy or just too much of a committed Londoner to be tempted into the English countryside over the summer, we've just heard about a farm event set on bringing the taste of the countryside to city-dwellers.

Riverford - the organic fruit and veg box company - is sending out a roving restaurant to showcase some of the fabulous, seasonal food their farms produce. And happily it's going to be in London for ten days from 10-20 June 2010 at Freightliner's Farm in Islington, just a stone's throw from Liverpool Road.

A greenery-strewn yurt will be set up to host lunches and dinners - and there'll also be cooking demonstrations during the day. A two-course lunch starts at £17.50 and a three course dinner from £22.50. And if that isn't enough to whet your appetite, let us remind you of Giles Coren's review of the Riverford restaurant in the Times last year when he described his meal there as 'the lunch of my life'.

To book your place call 0845 367 1155 or 01803 762 062.
