Peckham Refreshment Rooms to run pop-up restaurant for London Design Festival

peckham2There's usually a few foodie goings-on to tie in with the London Design Festival and this years event is no exception. Design collaboration Wrong for Hay are teaming up with Peckham Refreshment Rooms to create a pop-up bar in St James.

The prohibition-style bar will be at the old St Stephen's Club - formerly a Tory members club in Queen Anne's Gate. They'll be serving up period cocktails, German beer as well as a range of hams and cheeses from the does-what-it-says-on-the-tin Ham & Cheese company. Peckham Refreshment Rooms, whose food Jay Rayner raved out in a review just last month describing it as "big-boned food, with a sense of its own good looks" will also run the restaurant serving up what they say will be some of their "most delicious simple dishes". Sounds like a good opportunity to try their food if you don't want to head all the way out to Peckham for it.

The Wrong for Hay pop-up restaurant will be at 34 Queen Anne’s Gate, London SW1H 9AB from 14 – 22 September. Opening hours will be Sat 14 – Tue 17 9am – 11pm, Wed 18 – Thu 18 9am – 5pm and Fri 20 – Sun 22 9am – 11pm. The bar and terrace are open to all for drinks and snacks while bookings for lunch and dinner can be made by emailing reservations@wrongforhay.com or online at http://peckhamrefreshment.com.
