Patron Wine Shop & Deli Bar opens in Kentish Town

Patron Wine Shop & Deli Bar opens in Kentish Town

From the local couple behind Patron Cave a Manger comes a new Wine Shop & Deli Bar, just a few doors down from the restaurant which they opened in Kentish Town 18 months ago.

Restauranteurs Jean-François &Tanzi are joined by friend Nathy for this new venture which aims to "provide professional advice on carefully selected gourmet products". You can choose to sit in and enjoy the deli boards and fine wines - or buy all the delicacies to take home with you. On offer is a carefully curated selection of cheeses, charcuterie, olives and truffles. Each item is personally sourced by the owners on trips to France and beyond (Italy, Spain and the like) with an emphasis on boutique suppliers.

One of the bar’s key features is an enomatic wine dispenser which allows you to taste fine wines by the quarter, half, or full glass. All bottles are handpicked by the team, with just as much careful consideration as the edibles, and will change on a roughly monthly basis. The friendly and knowledgeable staff can help you with recommendations - although, with a small and well-rounded choice like this, we imagine they will have plenty of patrons happy to work their way through the lot. If you manage to remember your favourites at the end of the night, enjoy the luxury of taking second helpings from the store's counter and 'wine library' home with you.

Like the menus, the space is small and filled with authentic French furnishings. There's a large, communal table at the centre which seats 10, as well as cosy corners by the front window and down the back for those after a more intimate setting. The team want visitors to feel “like you’re stepping back in time, or have just discovered a hidden gem on the off streets of Paris.”They may have nailed the atmosphere – but we don’t expect it to stay a secret for long.

Patron Wine Shop & Deli Bar is now open at 16 Fortess Rd, London NW5 2EU. Visit Tuesday - Friday from 4pm till midnight, on Saturdays from noon through to midnight and Sundays from 12 noon till 10pm (closed on Mondays). Follow them on Twitter @PatronNW5.
