New sushi restaurant Kazu on Charlotte Street has ex-Chisou Head Chef in charge

kazu charlotte street

What: Kazu

In a nutshell: Sushi and sashimi for Fitzrovia

Summing it all up: Ex-Chisou Head Chef Kodi heads up the team behind this new sushi restaurant on Charlotte Street, so there are high expectations here

The low-down

We're always in the market for some decent sushi and a new opening on Charlotte Street sounds like it would deliver. Kazu is the brainchild of chef Dham Kodituwakku - known as Kodi - who was the former Head Chef at Chisou for 15 years, so that makes this a really interesting opening.

On the menu you can expect a selection of handmade sushi, sashimi and other dishes such as:

  • Seared Fatty Tuna with Pickled Wasabi
  • Black Cod with Miso
  • Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab Sushi Rolls
  • Rock Shrimp Tempura

As for drinks they've got a range of traditional Japanese sakes, an extensive wine list and a selection of spirits on offer.

They say: "Expect the very best of Japanese cuisine made with the highest quality ingredients, served within a modern, calm and peaceful environment." The 65 seat restaurant also includes a private dining room with space for up to 12 guests.
