Kricket is coming to the White City Television Centre

Updated 13/9/18 with soft launch information

What: Kricket White City

In a nutshell: Indian small plates go west

Summing it all up: There's no stopping the Kricket team, who are going west to White City with their latest Indian small plates restaurant. Expect new dishes too.

The low-down

Well, 2018's kicked off in style for West Londoners with news that Kricket are opening their second permanent restaurant there (which readers of our "rumours" section of our Coming Soon page will already be aware of).

The team that began in a shipping container at Pop Brixton, opened their first bricks and mortar restaurant in Soho at the beginning of 2017. But their new place at the White Cite development sounds like it will be massive. Serving up the usual modern, seasonal Indian dishes, the new space will cover a 3,600 square foot area in White City.

In practical terms that means there'll be seating inside for 100 and room for a cocktail bar and outdoor terrace. Oh, and they'll be taking reservations too. So if you're desperate for some samphire pakora, you can plan well in advance. For an idea of what to expect, check out our Test Drive of Kricket Soho

Hot Dinners caught up with co-owner Rik for a chat about what West Londoners can expect from their branch of Kricket when it opens. Crucially the food looks like moving away from the small plates they're probably better known for - and moving more towards individual courses. They'll have a variety of breads on offer and, as this will be an all day spot, breakfast is planned too.

What we're most interested by is the introduction of a Sunday brunch/lunch session where larger cuts of meat, like goat, will be cooked up for groups to eat family-style. "It'll be nice to do something a little different here," says Rik who's excited by the size of the site and all the light (and outside space) it offers.

Inside the restaurant will be split into a bar area which will serve up snacks, a large communal table which will also be great for groups, and then some booth seating too. And there'll be a large terrace with room for 40 diners outside.

Of course they've been planning some new dishes for this branch of Kricket - ones they've shared with us so far are:

  • Spiced Cod’s Roe, pickled mustard seeds, telicherry roti
  • Grouse Kebab, lardo, greengage chutney, cobnuts
  • Kid Goat leg raan, pomegranate, goats curd & mint raita, pink onions
  • Tandoori wood pigeon, smoked raita, garlic achar, salmi potatoes, pickled blackberries
  • Tandoor roasted monkfish tail, sea vegetable thoran, coconut chutney
  • Tandoor hispi, pickled shallot raita, dried shrimp chutney, peanuts
