Hibiscus chef Claude Bosi and his brother have bought The Swan Inn in Esher

We hear that Michelin-starred chef and his brother, Cedric, have just bought a new pub. They're take over the Swan Inn in Esher which will be welcome news, we expect, for the locals.

Head chef will Justin West, who has previously worked with Claude while the pub manager will be Joseph Hendriks who was at the brothers' previous west London pub, The Fox & Grapes in Wimbledon Village.

The food sounds pretty lovely;

  • Crab on toast with spring leaf salad and mustard dressing
  • Lyonnaise salad with poached eggs, organic bacon and crispy croûtons
  • Rump of Welsh spring lamb with Moroccan mint pesto
  • Treacle tart with clotted cream
  • Rhubarb jelly and custard with Scottish shortbread

In keeping with trad pub grub, there'll also be a Swan burger and on Sundays they'll be serving up a roast with all the trimmings. And, about a month after opening, they're hoping to launch six "modest" guestrooms.

The Swan Inn will be relaunched on 20 May 2016 at 2 Hare Lane, Esher, Surrey KT10 9BS. Opening hours will be Monday-Friday lunch from noon-2.30pm and dinner 6pm-9.30pm, and through the day from noon-9.30pm on Saturday, and until 8.30pm on Sunday. In early July, a daily breakfast service will commence from 7.30am. You can make a reservation on 01372-462 582 when the line launches on 9 May. Keep up with their news on Twitter @theswan_esher
