Heston's London venture to be "upmarket bistro"

Richard Vines at Bloomberg has managed to get some more information about Heston Blumenthal's new venture at the Mandarin Oriental from the man himself.

In a new interview, Heston tells him that the new venture will be offering a type of menu that's somewhere between the Fat Duck and the Hinds Head gastropub (opposite the Fat Duck and also owned by Heston). It seems that the 140 covers possible at the new venture would, unsurprisingly, not be able to match the level of the Fat Duck but will instead aim for "comfort food".  However, Heston does still promise some innovation and is already toying with the idea of "savoury porridge."
