Joe Allen gets a revamp

There may well be a burger revolution in town at the moment, but many still rate the burger at the long standing American restaurant Joe Allen. Now, after 36 years in town, the restaurant's undergone something of a gradual mini revamp under its latest owners.

It still has the famed off-,menu burger and many of the classic American dishes, added a new set lunch menu (£16/19.50 for two/three courses and a glass of wine) and a revamped private dining area too. Joe Allen is a restaurant where many of the big names in the industry once worked (Rusell Norman, Jeremy Kiny, Rowley Leigh) so well worth checking out if you want to go for something classic, but still "on trend".

Sipsmith gin installation

Top London gin Sipsmith is joining up with the Chelsea Gardner to create a "sensory gin installation" - where they'll be celebrating all things juniper with a "botanical work of art" and a special Sipsmith G&T pop up bar. You can learn all about where the favourite tipple of many comes from before downing your own G&T.

It'll be running at the Chelsea Gardener from September 6 - 29 - find out more at the Chelsea Gardener website
