Father's Day - the missed opportunity for London restaurants

We’re only in the business of writing about restaurants, rather than running them, but having spent a largely fruitless hour or two searching London’s restaurants for special Father’s Day lunch offers or special menus and only coming across two worth mentioning to you, it seems as if London’s restaurateurs are missing a bit of a trick.

It’s not rocket science after all - given the recession we’re in, you’d think there would be loads of restaurants here that would love to be totally packed out this Sunday lunchtime. And it’s an easy PR sell as well – all they have to do is offer a complimentary glass of fizz or a free pint of beer and the nation’s fathers would be happy.

Ah well, two places who have spotted the opportunity (which also meet Hot Dinners’ high standards) are Galvin at Windows and the Rivington Bar and Grill. Galvin are offering a special three course set menu for Father’s Day, including a glass of champagne for £45 per person. On the other side of town, the Rivington Bar and Grill offers dads the chance to try out their new three course Sunday lunch menu for £18.50 – they also have a decent children’s menu for this family day out.

If any other savvy restaurant PRs have got a Father’s Day deal they’d like to plug to Hot Dinners readers, they should contact us here.
