Doughnut Time's second branch opens in Old Street

Doughnut Time's second branch opens in Old Street

What: Doughnut Time

In a nutshell: Gloriously OTT doughnuts

Summing it all up: Was there ever any doubt that Aussie chain Doughnut Time would be a hit in London? It’s all down to their with their range of sugary doughnuts, all dripping with toppings, glazes and other gloriously calorific addons. And now after enjoying considerable success in Shaftesbury Avenue, they’re moving to a second base in Old Street - and plans for two new stores yet to come…

The low-down

It’s oh so bleak outside, but it’s not yet the New Year (with all its accompanying resolutions). Which means we can say with authority that yes, we DO fancy a stout beer-glazed doughnut covered in chocolate cake pieces, mocha beans and a coffee drizzle.

But in order to get your hands on one, you’ll need to head down to Aussie Chain Doughnut Time’s new Old Street shop, where the ‘Stout Out to Shoreditch’ doughnut will be exclusively sold. You’ll also be able to get your hands on all their other highly delightful, pun-laden classics, like the Nutella-heavy Love at First Bite, and the dreamy Veruca Salt with salted caramel and cinnamon sugar.

The new venue follows a six week pop up in Old Street station earlier this year, and their first premises on Shaftesbury Avenue. There’s more stores planned for 2018 as well, in Notting Hill and London City Airport, plus an ‘academy’ that’ll live on top of their flagship store.

All we can add is that it’s best to get down there before the clock strikes midnight on December 31, because we can’t see this one doing any diet-related new year’s resolutions any favours.
