Debretts publish their 2016 guide to the most influential food folk in Britain

debretts

Debretts, the guide to etiquette and folk of social standing has today released its list of the 500 most influential people in Britain today. They describe it as "a portrait of power, influence and celebrity in modern Britain."

Leaving aside their catastrophic error in not including us - we "ahem" refer you to the much better informed Evening Standard Influential List for that - there are a fair few food and drink folk on the list who are as follows:

  • Jason Atherton - chef and restaurateur
  • Mary Berry - all round goddess
  • Heston Blumenthal - chef and owner, The Fat Duck
  • Richard Caring - owner, Caprice Holdings
  • Chris Corbin and Jeremy King - restaurateurs
  • Martin Dickie and James Watt - founders of Brewdog
  • AA Gill - Sunday Times restaurant critic
  • Angela Hartnett - chef
  • Nadiya Hussein - Great British Bake Off winner
  • Tom Kerridge - chef
  • Russell Norman - restaurateur
  • Marina O'Loughlin - Guardian restaurant critic
  • Jamie Oliver - chef and food campaigner
  • Yottam Ottolenghi - chef, restaurateur and food writer
  • Alan Yau - restaurateur
  • Nigella Lawson - see Mary Berry description
  • Oliver Peyton - Restaurateur
  • Karam, Jyotin and Sunaina Sethi - restaurateurs
  • Jancis Robinson and Nicholas Lander - wine and restaurant critics
  • Ella Woodward - healthy food blogger

If you'd like to buy the book in question - a rather fetching cloth bound edition is yours, for just £150.
