The Woodford's Ben Murphy joins Launceston Place as head chef

presaBen Murphy is now the Kensington hotspot Launceston Place’s new head chef.

Ben, one of Britain’s fastest rising young chefs and *definitely* one to watch, is bringing with him a wealth of experience (and heaps of praise) from his time at E18’s The Woodford, which not only received ‘Restaurant of the Year’ from the Standard, but a rare five-star review from the late AA Gill. He’s also been voted Chef to Watch, Chef of the Year, and plenty more.

Ben has big plans for Launceston Place, where he says he intends to use the smaller size of the restaurant to allow him to have more fun experimenting with new dishes. There should be plenty of cuisine inspired from his childhood in France and London, with those all-important simple, seasonal ingredients. That's his Iberico presa with aubergine, ponzu and crackling above.

“I feel now is the time where I can be more creative and show more of my own style, pushing myself and the team here on to a higher level. You can expect to find dishes that are extremely attractive to the eye, but with all the essential elements adding a distinct and bold taste,” said Ben.

Launceston Place is at 1a Launceston Place, London W8 5RL. Follow Launceston Place on Twitter @LauncestonPlace.
