Barbecoa pop-up & more coming to designjunction at the London Design Festival

Barbecoa pop-up & more coming to designjunction at the London Design FestivalThe London design Festival is coming soon - and we've already reported on the plans for the Peckham Refreshment Rooms pop-up at St James.

Now we've seen designjunction's plans for the festival, all taking place at the Sorting Office at the top ow New Oxford Street, and they've got some pretty special events and pop-ups happening throughout.

First up is Jamie Oliver's first (proper) pop-up with Barbecoa setting up shop. They'll be putting on a special menu for the duration, including pit-smoked pulled pork sandwiches, smoked short ribs with chipotle tomato salsa and desserts that include carrot and zucchini cake and red velvet cookies. There will also be some butchery masterclasses too. The space is being designed by designjunction's creative director Michael Sodeau, with a focus on natural timber and be furnished by design company Modus.

Camden Town Brewery will be setting up a pop-up bar at the event, which will be decked out in Fired Earth tiles that are based on classic London Underground tiles (designed like a faux Camden Town station). As well as the Camden Town beers, they'll have tasting sessions from Wednesday to Friday from 4-5pm too.

For dessert, Gelupo are setting up a special Italian café for the event with their gelato accompanied with prosecco and sgroppinos - and they'll be revealing a special flavour just for the show too.

There will also be a Chilean wine bar with Chlean wines for tasting and Chilean furniture on display too, the Real Food Festival will be moving from the South Bank and pitching up on the ground floor of the event and there will be a Soda Stream soda bar.

It all sounds well worth a look - and it's free to enter too!

designjunction at the London Design Festival is at The Sorting Office 21-31 New Oxford Street from 19th - 22nd September. Entry is free on the door to Visa debit or credit card holders, but anyone can register in advance which will let you print up a ticket and avoid the queues on the door. Find out more about the event at their website.
