Angela Hartnett opening Cafe Murano at the original Petrus site

Not content with opening Merchants Tavern in Shoreditch and Hartnett Holder & Co in Lime Wood, Angela Hartnett is launching her second solo venture in the very building where she started her career. Chicken Shop goes south to Tooting

Ex Novikov chef opens Ballaro Sicilian restaurant on Haverstock Hill

North Londoners get a new Italian restaurant as Ballaro prepares to open on Haverstock Hill. Far Rockaway restaurant, bar and art space comes to Curtain Road

A big new Shoreditch spot, named after a neighbourhood in Queens, launches on Curtain Road this week. Far Rockaway bills itself as a place where "New York's compelling urban culture comes to the heart of Shoreditch". Japanese pub Kurobuta pops up on the Kings Road for three months

We've already talked about the Japanese pub being opened by Scott Hallsworth (ex Nobu and Wabi) by Marble Arch. Well while work on that continues, Scott has created a pop-up version down on the Kings Road.

Bibendum Oyster Bar given redesign and new menu

26 years after it first opened, the oyster bar at Bibendum is undergoing a radical redesign. The bar  has been given a comprehensive update by Sir Terence Conran and Richard Doone.
