Bistrot at Wild Honey takes the bistronomy movement to Pall Mall

Bistrot at Wild Honey

It might be situated in the heart of the British establishment, opposite the Institute of Directors and across the road from The Athenaeum but chef Anthony Demetre's new bistrot on Pall Mall is a going to be a lovely slice of Paris in London. Called Bistrot at Wild Honey, it's taking over the lower level entrance space to the restaurant.

Dubbed a 'little sister' to Demetre's Michelin-starred restaurant the new space is a casual spot for lunch or dinner. It'll be just as easy to pop in for a glass of wine and a dish as to go for a three-course meal. There'll be counter space that's great for solo dining and a series of red leather banquettes for group get-togethers.

Inspired by the bistronomy movement which is where high-end cooking techniques are used in a more casual dining environment the menu reflects that approach. Dishes will include:

  • Whipped cod’s roe & grilled flatbread
  • Crisp pig’s head with mashed potato, sweet & sour onions
  • Ricotta dumplings with winter tomato relish
  • Steak frites (made with Herefordshire bavette)
  • Paris Brest

We'll admit to being enticed by the idea of the Cinq à Sept offering which will serve up a glass of wine and choice of croquettes daily for £9. There aren't many places in St James offering that kind of value.

Talking of wine, the list here will feature over 25 wines by the bottle (from a bargainous £29) as well as options by carafe, glass and Coravin. Expect a mostly Euro list with a French focus. There will also be a range of signature and classic cocktails on offer too.
