The Hound is the next JKS pub, opening in Chiswick

The Hound is the next JKS pub, opening in Chiswick

It's no secret that a lot of pubs are closing across the UK at the moment. However, we are seeing some of those snapped up and brought back to life. There's the upcoming The Pig's Ear (once The Chelsea Pig) which is being reopened by the Gladwin brothers, and now a Chiswick pub is being resurrected by JKS, the people behind Gymkhana.

The Crown on Chiswick High Road closed in March, but there are already plans to reopen it this summer under a new name The Hound. It will be the third JKS pub, which they've been developing with publican Dominic Jacobs, after The Cadogan Arms in Chelsea and The George in Fitzrovia.

First reported on by hospitality industry website Propel, we're yet to learn what's planned for the food there. After launching with fairly distinct menus (with The George's originally devised by Michelini-starred chef James Knappett) both of the previous pubs have settled down to offer menus with fairly similar dishes. So you can probably expect the paneer/pork cheek curry, the beef and Guinness pie and beer-battered fish and chips to make an appearance at the new pub.

We'll update you more about the pub closer to the opening date.
