The Black Dog in Vauxhall gets namechecked in Taylor Swift's new album and very, very busy

Taylor Swift namechecks The Black Dog in Vauxhall in her new album

Up until last Friday the staff of The Black Dog on Vauxhall Walk were probably mostly concerned with making sure everything was geared up for their popular Sunday roast. But all that changed when Taylor Swift dropped the second of two albums featuring a track specifically named after the South London boozer.

The track, widely thought to be referring to her ex Joe Alwyn discusses Taylor watching her boyfriend on their shared locations going into the pub in question. "And so I watch as you walk into some bar called The Black Dog, and pierce new holes in my heart."

In their first post on TikTok, now viewed half a million times, the pub called for help with their new-found fame, saying "Swifties please advise on next steps." Most of the replies are from fans demanding the pub go back through their old security tapes to establish once and for all whether the pub-visiting cad in question was Joe or her other famous ex Matty Healy. As well as many who've been urging the pub to prepare for all the extra custom coming their way, one Swiftie advises them to "have 2 tip jars one labelled joe the other matty and people would tip based on who they think the song is about" which really is a stroke of genius.

If you are thinking of going down, they do have a pretty nice food menu on offer with Spanish influences so chips come with house aioli and pimento rojo and there's a mix of cold and hot tapas to have with your pint of San Miguel.
