Café Petiole is an "almost vegan" cafe in Somerset House from Tendril's Rishim Sachdeva

Café Petiole is an "almost vegan" cafe in Somerset House from Tendril's Rishim Sachdeva

15/5/24 - updated with the opening date

After opening up Tendril in its permanent Mayfair location last year, Rishim Sachdeva already has his next restaurant planned, Café Petiole in Somerset House.

Like Tendril, this will be a "mostly vegan" affair, a small all-day cafe which will also have a few grab-and-go options. Running the menu with Rishim is Tendril's head of pastry Tarryn Williams, and they'll kick off the day with dishes like toasted banana bread with agave. Also on the menu, you'll find:

  • Grilled aubergine sabich with tabbouleh
  • Mustard mushroom focaccia with daikon pickle
  • Blue corn tostada, smoked artichokes & lime puree
  • Pineapple, chilli & lime Galette

On top of the food, there will be "home condiments" to take away, including white bean spread and his Chinatown soy glaze, and even the Tendril tiramisu will be available to go.
