Abby Lee's Malaysian restaurant Mambow is moving to Clapton

Abby Lee's Mambow is moving to Clapton

5/11/23 - updated with the opening date

Abby Lee's Mambow has been a hit in Market Peckham (and we were impressed), but now it's about to make a big move. She's upping sticks and taking it to the other side of town to open as a standalone restaurant in Clapton (taking over what was Le Merlin).

As before, the restaurant will be all about modern Malaysian food, but the bigger space means the menu will be getting bigger. Just what's being added to that menu is yet to be revealed, but we're hoping the amazing Lor Bak (five-spice pork and prawn bean curd roll) makes the move.

The new Clapton space will have an open kitchen, so will still retain some of the feel of the Peckham Mambow, while room to fit in 40 people (20 inside, 20 outside). Drinks, meanwhile, will continue to focus on natural wines along with a small rotating cocktail list.

Anyone in Clapton who hasn't made it across to Peckham's Mambow is about to get a great new restaurant on their doorstep that should be well worth checking out.
