It's nearly time for the 2022 World's 50 Best Restaurants awards (the event takes place on 18 July). So to get us all in the mood, we've just had numbers 51-100 revealed.
This often gives us something of an opportunity to predict any changes to the top 50 based on what is/isn't in the 51-100 section. For example, the appearance of Lyle's at 54 means that it's dropped out of the top 50 for the first time in a few years (it was at 33 last year). There's also no sign of last year's new entry Core (last year at 64), which we'd say means it's in with a very good chance at getting into the top 50.
Last year also saw Ikoyi (their "one to watch" for that year) enter the chart at 87 - so we'd say that has a good chance of getting in the top 50. Dinner by Heston was at 65 last year but that was heading downwards and we think that might be exiting the chart - so we'll hedge our bets on that one.
Brat stays on the list at 81 while the big new entry is Santiago Lastra's Kol at 73 (pictured above). Still nothing outside of London - but that's pretty much par the course for this list. Here's the whole thing:
